Introduction
Welcome to Part 4 of my Star Atlas SAGE Labs XP Guide series! In this guide, we’ll dive into earning CRAFTING XP in Galia Expanse, a key activity in the #StarAtlas #P2E metaverse. Crafting components not only boosts your XP but also helps you progress in the game. Let’s get started, Onigiri-style!
1. What is CRAFTING XP in SAGE Labs?
- Overview: CRAFTING XP is earned by crafting components using resources like Iron Ore and Carbon in SAGE Labs (https://support.staratlas.com).
- Where to Craft:
- Central Space Station (CSS) of your faction.
- Starbase controlled by your faction.
- Why It Matters:
- Crafting components (e.g., ship parts) earns you CRAFTING XP, which contributes to your Council Rank.
- It’s a great way to utilize resources gathered from mining (see Part 3 of this series).
2. How to Earn CRAFTING XP
2.1 Step 1: Gather Resources
- Mine Resources:
- Use your fleet to mine resources like Iron Ore and Carbon in Galia Expanse (check Part 3 for mining tips).
- Example: My fleet ONIGIRIYA1 mined Iron Ore in sector [-19, 9], earning 140,077 MINING XP.
- Fleet Composition:
- Use ships with large cargo capacity (e.g., Ogrika Thripid) to gather more resources per trip (see my guide on the best mining ships).
2.2 Step 2: Travel to a Crafting Location
- Choose a Location:
- Head to your faction’s CSS or a Starbase.
- CSS is safer but may be farther from high-Richness sectors.
- Travel Tips:
- Use subwarp for nearby locations to save Fuel.
- Reserve warp for long distances to reach CSS quickly.
2.3 Step 3: Craft Components
- Crafting Process:
- At the CSS or Starbase, select the resources (e.g., Iron Ore, Carbon) to craft components.
- Pay a small ATLAS fee for each component (https://aephia.com/star-atlas-rec-guide/).
- Example: Crafting a ship part might require 100 Iron Ore and 10 ATLAS.
- Earn CRAFTING XP:
- Each crafted component rewards CRAFTING XP (exact amount varies; check in-game).
- The more complex the component, the more XP you earn.
2.4: Best Ships for Crafting
Ogrika Thripid (Epic Large Freighter):
- Specs: Large size, Cargo Foreman module, Oversized Hull Reinforcements, 2 Maneuvering Thrusters, Aephia Ship Rating 23.5.
- Cargo Capacity: Very high (exact value in-game), ideal for transporting large amounts of resources like Iron Ore and Carbon.
- Why It’s Great for Crafting: The Ogrika Thripid is one of the best ships for crafting in Star Atlas SAGE Labs, capable of carrying thousands of resources in a single trip, perfect for bulk crafting at CSS.
Rainbow Om (Epic Medium Freighter):
- Specs: Medium size, Oversized Impulse Engine, Oversized Warp Drive, Oversized Hull Reinforcements, Aephia Ship Rating 24.5.
- Cargo Capacity: High for a medium ship (exact value in-game), used in my fleet ONIGIRIYA1.
- Why It’s Great for Crafting: A versatile choice for Star Atlas SAGE Labs crafting, balancing speed and cargo capacity for efficient resource transport.
Rainbow Arc (Epic Large Freighter):
- Specs: Large size, 2 Cargo Foremen, Oversized Impulse Engine, Oversized Warp Drive, Oversized Hull Reinforcements, Aephia Ship Rating 24.5.
- Cargo Capacity: Extremely high (exact value in-game), one of the best for crafting.
- Why It’s Great for Crafting: The Rainbow Arc excels in bulk crafting, making it a top choice for players aiming to maximize CRAFTING XP in Galia Expanse.
Note: Cargo capacities vary; check your ship’s stats in STARBASED for exact values.
3. Strategies to Maximize CRAFTING XP
- Stockpile Resources:
- Mine in high-Richness sectors (e.g., [-50, 50], MRZ-20) to gather resources faster.
- Use ships like Ogrika Thripid or Rainbow Arc to store large amounts of resources.
- Craft in Bulk:
- Craft multiple components at once to save time and maximize XP gains.
- Example: With Rainbow Arc, you can transport enough resources for 10+ components in one trip.
- Minimize Costs:
- Use subwarp to travel to CSS and save Fuel.
- Ensure you have enough ATLAS for crafting fees (check your wallet in STARBASED).
- Avoid Hostile Sectors:
- Plan your route to avoid hostile sectors (e.g., [-19, 9]) when traveling to CSS.
- Use durable ships like Ogrika Thripid for safer transport.
4. Onigiri’s Tips
- Efficient Crafting: Mine Iron Ore and Carbon in high-Richness sectors, then craft in bulk at CSS. Enjoy an onigiri snack while crafting!
- Fleet Choice: Use ships like Ogrika Thripid for large cargo capacity to transport more resources.
- ATLAS Management: Always keep some ATLAS in your wallet for crafting fees.
5. Conclusion
Earning CRAFTING XP in Star Atlas SAGE Labs is a rewarding way to progress in Galia Expanse. By mining resources and crafting components at CSS or Starbases, you can boost your Council Rank. Have questions? Reach out on X at @OStaratlas19260. Stay tuned for more guides! #StarAtlas #P2E
